United Way of Pickens County is in the business of creating meaningful and tangible impact in each and every community in our county. We are united in the belief that what matters are results.
It
is not how many individuals we provide for and serve.
It is not how many programs or partners we unite.
What matters are the bottom line results; the lives we change and the
communities we help shape.

Mike)
Mobley is Senior Process Engineer at Shaw Industries’ Clemson Plant 8T.
He and his family moved to the Upstate during 1993, from his hometown
of Sylvania, Georgia. He began serving on the United Way of Pickens County
Board of Directors during 1995, and has served numerous terms since then.
Mike has chaired the Clemson Plant’s United Way campaign every year since
1994, with plant and employee contributions exceeding $425,000 to benefit
Pickens and surrounding counties. During 1997, he teamed with Jean Tulli
(Helping Hands of Clemson) to design and lead the Pickens County Pacesetter
campaign, including introduction of the special Pacesetter Award that
recognizes outstanding achievement from Pacesetter organizations each
year. Mike and Jean have led the Pacesetter campaign every year since
its inception. Mike initiated efforts to create a local campaign video
featuring Pickens County residents and clients. A new campaign video is
now introduced each year and is an integral part of the Pickens County
campaign. Mike has been active in Special Olympics, as both a coach and
volunteer during the annual Fall Games in Anderson and Mid-Winter Games
in Charleston.
